This term we are going to be learning all about Spring. We have started to talk about signs of Spring and have been encouraging the children to look out for them in the environment. Have a look at the pictures of us making Spring flowers and preparing our outdoor area for some planting. We are going to set up a garden centre role play so if you have any old gardening equipment that you know longer need, please feel free to donate it! Seed, plant and compost donations would also be most welcome - we have lots of tubs to fill! Thank you.
We have welcomed some tiger worms to Reception and installed a wormery. We put our snack waste in the top and the worms eat it. They then turn it into compost for our garden and produce worm juice (or plant food as it's also known!)
Thank you so much to everyone who came to celebrate with us today! We were overwhelmed by the support shown and hope that everyone had a great time. Yesterday we enjoyed pancakes in out Snack Cafe. The children could have them hot or cold and had syrup, butter or lemon curd to choose from! The lemon curd went down suprisingly well! We have been learning all about Chinese New Year this week. We have created our own Chinese restaurant, made music, practised our scissor skills making lanterns and lots more! We have lots of other exciting things planned for next week too. Don't forget our celebration on Wednesday 10th February 2.45 - 3.15. The children will be performing a dragon dance and showing you some of the things they have been learning. |
