What a busy day! We have been peeling, grating and chopping vegetables for our soup. We also roasted some veg in the class ovens. The mushrooms turned it rather grey but everyone was encouraged to have a taste - Mr Smith even popped down to try it! Thank you for your enthusiasm tasting our soup after school - we hope you enjoyed it!
A super time was had by everyone on our trip to Morecambe this morning. We arrived in plenty of time to catch the train at Bare Lane and we waited excitedly on the platform. At Morecambe we split up into classes and each visited the library and Morrisons. The children were impeccably behaved and we all enjoyed ourselves greatly. We have spent time exploring some of the vegetables this afternoon and the rest we will be using to make soup on Wednesday - yum!
We have been busy enjoying the autumnal weather these past few weeks in our outdoor area. We have also set up our very own mud kitchen! Don't worry, the children are kitted out in waterproofs and wellies so shouldn't be coming home too covered in mud! :) If you have any old kitchen utensils/bowls/pans or would like to donate some cut flowers (for perfume making!) please feel free to bring them in. |
