Today we have had a very exciting snack day! We have been enjoying Morecambe Bay shrimps with bread and butter and we also harvested some of the vegetables we have been growing. The shrimps went down a treat with lots of children requesting seconds! Delicious! :)
Following our recent walk around the local area looking for thing we liked and didn't like, some children visitied Bare Lane Station this morning to enhance the environment for our community. Along with the 'Station Adopters', some Reception children took the plants we have grown from seed to the platform and planted up some pots. We also painted some posters to make the station look bright and cheery - why not go and have a look! We have also been learning all about Eric Morecambe. These are some of the photographs from our Eric Morecambe photo booth along with some of our charcoal portraits! The Snack Cafe continues to be popular (I wonder why?!) and the children are becoming very independent at accessing the area. We have enjoyed toasted pitta with dips (salsa, hummous and sour cream), porridge and home grown vegetables to mention a few. What a wonderful time we had at Brockhole on Thursday. The weather was very kind to us and the children behaved amazingly. It was a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. After our coach ride there we spent some time exploring the play area. It was brilliant to see the children having a go at all the different equipment. Their sense of achievement when they managed a tricky challenge was great to see! We then enjoyed lunch alfresco - food always tastes better eaten outside! We then split up and took turns in joining the Beat Hunt or exploring the grounds. A great deal of fun was had by all and we were tired out on the way home!
